That is absolutely gorgeous—if I were to build one, I wouldn't do it any different.  The classic look of the 70s Civics I like so much with the heart of a 90's Si. Swoon.

BAT said they would do a no reserve auction. Not doing that.

That seems to be the case for a lot of the auction at the cheaper end. They did the same with my S2k and that worked out pretty well. I actually ended up getting a fair amount more than I had thought I would get for the car, despite the lack of a reserve.

Beautiful Civic, really nice restomod! Yes, please do list the link when it goes live on BAT.

Curious as to what seems to be the limit with BAT on these auctions? We have a Triumph Spitfire we will be listing soon was definitely going to place it on BAT, but assumed I could put at least a reasonable reserve on it. This car was fully restored in the early 2000's, has all the desirable options (overdrive and hardtop, dual H4 SU carbs) with a beautiful interior and  bright red paint.  I just redid the entire front suspension as I hate to see these cars with an undetailed front suspension since they are exposed and replaced all the brakes including the front calipers as they were sticking from sitting in the previous owners garage. I also converted it properly to the early chrome bumpers with brand new bumpers.  Spitfires are normally rusty and hiding all sorts of issues, this one is almost as clean as they can be and will be a great car for someone. Full pictures of all the restoration, metal repairs, receipts, etc, from the previous owner so the engine rebuild and restoration is well documented.

I think it is definitely a #2 example which Hagerty places at $11,600. Do you think BAT will allow a reserve of 10K and can you negotiate with them?

I hate to be the Debbie downer, but that car would not do well on BAT.

I know you are not going to like my critique but its a 10 foot car. Look at the overspray in the engine bay. The strut bolts are all painted on the passenger side and shinny on the driver. The wheels dont fit the car, they are way too modern and big for that car. The mirrors, dont get me started on the mirrors.

I hate to put down someone else's hard work, but just trying to be honest. I think you want more than the car is worth, and that is OK. I have the same problem with some of my cars, so I keep them.

The BAT crowd would drive you insane with their nitpicking.

Again, sorry to be the dissenting voice here.

When I listed my 1990 delta integrale 16v bat only gave me a 10k reserve, reluctantly went with them anyways. Ended up getting 30k out of it so maybe you will luck out. They have not accepted the last 3 cars my dad and I submitted.

Based on my experience - S2k worth between 18k-20k - no, they'll likely say "no reserve or no auction". But it might well differ based on the vehicle, when I auctioned my S2k there were two or three others on the site at the same time IIRC.

Yes when I painted the engine bay I forgot  to tape the passenger side strut bolts, I'm not a painter. A little acetone will get them cleaned right up.
I had the mirrors & liked them. They are very similar to a Honda dealer option mirror also. They mounted a bit higher & were black though & called "sporty mirror".

Also had the wheels so put them on. I have more "correct" 13 in. steelies with beauty rings but liked these better. They pay homage to the 3rd gen Civic & 1st gen CRX. Most people like them.
I had Mini R53 phone dials on years ago, now those were too big but cool.
It's not a classic Ferrari so wasn't too worried about these things.
