As Aston Martin transitioned from the DB5 to the DB6, it had a surplus of DB5 chassis. The solution? Use those DB5 chassis with DB6 flourishes and sell them as the DB Short Chassis Volante. The British automaker just made 37, and this is one of them.

This particular example is among the rarest of the rare Aston Martins–it’s left-hand drive. Of the 37 Volantes produced, only 11 came in that configuration.

The previous owner has cared for the Aston Martin for more than 10 years, but it’s now ready for a new caretaker.

Find this 1965 Aston Martin DB Short-Chassis Volante up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $1,050,000-$1,500,000.
