Own a 1963 Apollo 3500 GT, aka “The American Ferrari.” This is the second example of 41 built by the short-lived American marque. The cars combined Italian-built bodies with American-built powertrains.

Chassis No. 1004 uses a steel frame and a custom suspension derived from a Buick Special, with additional Chevrolet components. A 3.5-liter all-aluminum Buick V8 powers the car, with a BorgWarner close-ratio four-speed transmission. The entire car weighs only 2300 pounds.

This example is a “nicely kept older restoration,” maintaining an aluminum hood, doors and trunk, as well as a numbers-matching engine. The car “has been regularly exercised and carefully stored.”
