So here's the backstory. I'm selling an '85 RX-7, and the interested buyer is in Mississippi, and I'm in Texas.

The car doesn't have a title. I was last titled in Washington state, and sold to someone down in Texas in '00-'01ish, at which point the title was lost. It sat until '09 when I bought it, played around with it in the garage for a little bit, and now I'm moving on.

I know in Texas the state will issue a new title for a car in this situation, but I know it took me a while to find that out, talking to two separate DMV bureaus, etc.

What's the best way to get this car titled in Mississippi, considering it had a clean title?

I can't say for sure in your case, but from my experience in Alaska, you will need to title it in Texas; your buyer can then title it anywhere.

Thanks for the help, the Mississippi guy backed out. Probably just going to sell it to someone in TX where we can do a title hearing. I've got a bunch of Bills of Sale and a paper trail as long as my arm, just no title. Shouldn't be a huge deal.
