Looking for some advice from the collective. I've got my 66 Barracuda that I've been working on from a couple years now and there are a few things left to do that are just causing me grief to get it done correctly. So rather than potentially do it wrong I'd rather take it somewhere that can help.

My old school go to shop has since become all mainstream and isn't interested in that type of work anymore. It's mostly straight mechanical work like getting a new oil pan gasket in place but there are a couple of items that require some fabrication like the installation of new front hard lines for my new dual chamber master brake cylinder.

Any recommendations out there for someone not looking for a full restoration but a little more than simple mechanic work in the central Texas area?

Try http://classicjaguar.com/. They service British marques almost exclusively, but the owner is at a point where he can pick and choose his clientele. If you have an interesting story, he might help you out.

I know them. I helped broker a deal with them to by a classic 140 FHC SE from a friend's dad estate. I'll give them a call. If nothing else they may give a lead for someone else.

Any other ideas?

I asked a buddy of mine at work who own's a '58 Alfa if he knew of anyone. He recommended Jeff's Resurrections as a possibility. I've never heard of him, but thought I'd pass it along.

You might want to hit up the HAMB or the local Austin hot rod groups, too. There are enough hot rods, rat rods and the like around that I'm sure you can find someone who's comfortable (and not too expensive) to work on your 'Cuda.

Met a guy with an E-Type that had Jeff's do the restoration. It was gorgeous and very well done (and I'm an E-Type owner, as well).

Wow. Jeff does some really nice work from the pictures. I am surprised I never I've never heard of them. Probably a little above my price range :) I guess this is a good excuse to hit the swap meets and do some research.

Jeff's is about $80/hr, and Classic Jag is about $105/hr. Also, Jeff used to specialize in American Muscle cars, especially Mopar.

That is better that I would have thought. Thanks for the additional information. I'll have to reach out and talk with them.
