Everything but the dinner and awards is open to the public. The 24 Hours of Slot Cars is going to be insane, I suspect.
Slot cars should be cool. It's being run by Greg Walker, our local slot car expert, and Alan Smith, head cheese at slotcarillustrated.com. In other words, we have two of the top slot car guys in the country running it. Both know real cars, too--Greg has raced at Daytona in his IMSA Corvette, and Alan imports and sells Minis. Good times.
There were a ton of people there today. Always nice to meet some readers.
We survived. And so did the slot cars. Together they covered more than 53,000 laps.

As my first time seeing the Daytona road course in action, I had a blast at this event. The course walk was especially enjoyable.
Add "Driving on the Daytona road course" to my bucket list, please.
