This year was my first Mitty experience, and I had a great time... despite the fact that I didn't get to spend huge amounts of time drooling over the details of all the spectacular cars, or really get to concentrate on much of the on-track action.
This was the first time I took my son to a race. He is 2 1/2. Being a long way from home, traveling without Mommy, going to a place with really loud noises... bringing him was a bit of a gamble.
But he absolutely love it! He brought his race cars, a loved looking at all the cool cars that were there. Some of memorable quotes:
Owen: "What car is that?"
Me: "It's a MG, do you like it?"
Owen: "I want to drive it"
Owen: "I love the race cars, I want to kiss them"
Owen: "You see the race cars over there? They are going really really fast"
And to add a visual to the experience, look at the joy and excitement in his face as he watched the cars go up the hill.
Way to go. i started bringing my kids when they turned 3 or so and it was awesome watching them get into the sights and sounds.
Awesome. Glad you guys had a great time.

Fantastic. First thought I had was, "This picture brought to you by the Hall County Chamber of Commerce."
If I was track public relations staff, I'd be paying you money to have it put in our next ad.
Amazing. That was right by Mount Mongo BTW you should have introduced yourselves
He'll remember it for a long time to come. Still have vivid memories of attending the 1000km race at the Nurburgring in 1964 with my dad and older brother. Jag E-types and 356 Porsches slugged it out. There were two 'experimental' Ferrari 250P's that ran away with the race -- but were literally in a class by themselves.
Contrast that with a great picture of my daughter - aged 5 or so - sitting above the esses at Road Atlanta absolutely bored stupid. It never 'took' with her.
