Modern automotive assembly lines may feature extensive use of precision robotics, but that wasn't always the case.

Before today’s robots, every component that went into a car was, essentially, assembled by hand. This 1936 promotional film shows how Chevrolet tried to automate the assembly line in order to effectively mass produce its automobiles.
