I’ve found several affordable hvac 37 degree flaring tools.  I just need to make a few flares in some soft nicop line.

I see summit has a cheap for about $40 but for the same price I get get what seems to be nicer used hvac tools.

Any reason I shouldn’t??

as long as you’re using 37 degree tool it’s the same.  Summit’s tool works well.

37 degree single flare is 37 degree single flare; any tool with that flare angle will make compatible flares. The main limitation you may encounter is that some tools don't have enough clamping or pressing force for harder materials like stainless steel.

I have a Parker Haniffin 37 degree flaring tool I have owned for several years. Makes a smooth uniform flare every time. I usually use steel tubing and have never had a problem with the tubing slipping. Not cheap but very good quality.

I've got a nice Eastman that I bought 20+ years ago from McMaster-Carr it's never failed me.  Like others have said 37 is 37 buy quility once and be done with it.
