Yeah, that. Do you NEED to stand under it, though? I find a good rolling bench and a nice creaper work well with a just a few foot lift. Everyone's work preference is different, but something to consider

May I add , if you are building something design it for a 63 chevy Bel Air , not a Miata 

My old shop was built by a VW guy ,  the lifts were set-up to work on VWs , 

Which was a  bad plan if you also wanted to work on the shops Chevy  work truck and you could not close the shop door !

Think long term !

It sounds like the big negative to the Maxjack is that it isn't tall enough to stand under.  If I am not going to be standing anyway, it makes a bit more sense.
