I'm doing a little planning ahead here looking to see how much I will need to save for next spring. I needed snow tires and wheels this winter so that was the priority. My '11 Golf TDi has just crossed 100k miles. The shocks and struts were spongy when I got the car. I do plan on keeping this one a while. I'm looking at the Koni STR/T and H&R spring kit, or a set of Bilstiens with the factory springs. Are there other options I should look at? This car is daily driver duty only, but I don't want a Caddy ride. I like the firm German ride and handling balance. What are your opinions? Thanks!

I put Eibachs and STRTs on my Volvo and wish I had sprung for the FSDs instead. I like a little firmer ride too, but all the pot holes and road seams on my regular commute got pretty old after a long day at work. Our Jetta is getting FSDs when the time comes.

I would personally go with Koni yellows over their STR.T line.

AST build your own option in 40mm aluminum or 46mm aluminum or steel

Very nice, but a way out of budget and way too fancy for a DD that won't see any track time.

I put FSDs on my MINI with the stock springs to maintain some semblance of ride quality on our wonderful Michigan roads. The ride and handling improved noticeably.

koni yellows and driver gear springs are a good combo, you could probably find a set of lower mileage golf r shocks and just use those with the stock springs or driver gear springs

I have Koni STR/Ts on my 93 Civic with Neuspeed sport springs. I autocross it and the shocks aren't bad. For an daily I would use them.
