Didn't see this posted yet. Gist: 1.6 GDI-T 201hp. 6spd manual, etc...
Aaaand again they've made a fish-mouth grille for the US market. I've seen the foreign versions of most of the same cars and they look much better, with normal grilles that look like they aren't trying to suck in as much krill as possible.
BTW notice how while smoothing down all the nice angles the car used to have and swapping that angular sporty grille for a blobby fish-mouth, they gave it a quite serious-looking rear diffuser. It's like they moved all the sportiness to the back underside of the car.
Rumor on Jalopnik is that this one comes with Stage 3 foglight bulbs STOCK.
It's like they won't leave anything for us to mod...

More impressive IMO.
Is this the overseas version?
If so we got screwed.
Also, I've always heard that the reason we get goofy front ends is the gov't mandated front crash protection. It could also be because that is what the new car buying public wants.

^ this.
Many of us here (and friends of mine) that dislike many of the new car trends.. are not the new car buying market. we are the used car market. and our tastes are.. slower to change.
I use the wrx/sti as a great example. No matter what the current look is, I always like the previous generation best. when the new one comes out, i will like the one we currently have (even though I hate them as of now). it happens every generation.
I wonder what it would take to start a KDM y0~ trend, lol. I guess making decent cars is a start.
Kia seems to be beating the Honda Civic into the ground.

Looks a lot better without the fish mouth, but still a step back from the previous gen. model.
I liked the looks of the old one a lot better but it is hard to complain about a car with that motor. What is weight?
But as long as I live in Huntsville I will never own a Kia...
