16 cylinder Cummins QSK60 Diesel engine.
In a generator set so running at a constant 1800 rpm.
4 stroke so each injector fires every other rotation or 900 times per minute.
Smaller pre and post injections for emissions purposes so actually 2700 times per minute.
2700 / 60 seconds = 45 injections per second per cylinder.
45 x 16 cylinders = 720 injector firings PER SECOND !
Pretty amazing when you break it down. That is some fast EFI.
