In my want to make my econo box (Mazda 2) handle a little better I may have purchased the wrong tire:

I got some Dunlop Direzza D102 from the Tirerack.com, they are sitting in the garage awaiting mounting and some direction from some experts...

I know the car may look funny with the wheel gap and the speedo may be a touch off but I can fix one of those things from Racingbeat...

One tire calculator calls them 5.5% wider can this fit on my stock Mazda 2 6"rim ok... I know a 6.5" rim is probably ideal but I have what I have and I made a boo-boo... Will these tires fit for the 10k miles I want them to?

I run a 205/50/15 on my 15x6 autocross wheels. They're Rivals so they're probably even a bit wider than that. They pooch a bit but they work fine.

If you look on the specs page for that tire on tirerack, you'll see "Rim Width Range" is specified 5.5-7", a 6" rim is within that range, it's even the width they used to take the tire measurements (Meas. Rim Width).

In reply to Brokenbrakes:

Super common combo back in the days when EG Civics were plentiful. Zero concerns about it as others have stated.

195/55-15 is stock fitment on the MR2, which runs a 15x6 in front.

We have run the 15x6 BBS wheels from '95 Miata M on my wife's '92 yellow Miata for over 10 yrs with 205/50 tires. No problems ever.

That is what I am running on my Integra on stock wheels, I ran 205/50 before, but I might go back to it again, it didn't feel as fast as sharp as the 195/55, but the 205/50 felt faster.

I did notice irregular wear on my 205/50 tires on a 15x6.
