I just picked this up today for $1,100 Cruising in style this summer.....
CL AD: "I have for sale a 1968 Ford Country Sedan station wagon. This is a true survivor car. It is all original and only has 82,000 miles on it. It has a 390 and a three speed on the column. It has power steering and A/C. It's still sitting on some Western Auto H-78-15 bias ply tires. It has new brakes all around, new head gaskets, new timing chain, new distributor, new plugs, points, condenser, cap, rotor, and wires. It runs and drives, but still needs a little tlc. $2000 or I would consider trading for a Geo Tracker, or Suzuki Sidekick."
Very nice! A manual transmission is pretty uncommon. When I was a teenager I worked for a guy who had a '68 Ford wagon; I drove it on occasion, it was a neat car (although it was an automatic.)
Love it!!

Might want to put tires on it though.
How did this thing survive living in Quebec?
Nice! Only thing I'd change is the tires and maybe add some period-appropriate alloys.
SWEET!!!!
If you ever cruise up toward Peoria you should stop by. I'd love to lay eyes on this thing!
Thanks for the kind words guys! Tires are probably 30 years old, that is 1st on the list. Car was bought new here in Springfield, IL. The guy I bought it from bought a Canada plate for it because it was 1968 and thought it looked good on the car.He saved it from a scrapper last fall got it running and sold it. He just wanted to make sure it didn't get crushed.

I will make my way up this summer to The Crab Shack or Avanti's and will give you a heads up

You think Avanti's is worth the trip? For what? Skip that, lets go to the Burger Barge.

Never been to Burger Barge passed by it a few times though..

nice score
My buddies dad was a salesman for Wynn's oil back then. Imagine that wagon painted in Wynn's colors and insignias as a company car.
Wow! What an awesome find! Love it!
An example of back when you could build a car with an actual book of options. Enjoy turning those tires to smoke. The 22nd is earth day after all.

That's awesome. You're driving my '65 F100 with that drivetrain, but in a more comfortable package. Well bought, too.
I'm glad you bought this, but it would have been fun to watch the seller's driving for a few days if he had traded for a Tracker or Sidekick as he suggested in the ad. I'm thinking there might have been a bit of a learning curve....
Amazing find. Good score!
How do you get to $1100 from $2000? Most $2000 folks will hum and haw and take $1800, but $1100? Wow.

Great food. Burger Barge would be worth the trip if it doesn't get washed away!
Grew up in one of those! Other than normal maintenance stuff, I would replace the U joints and check the front spline for looseness. Wagons are tough on these along with shocks and rear springs. Add these to your list...

This car = AWESOME! Please don't change a thing. (except the tires).
Let me know when you want to sell it. I'm prepared to offer you as much as double your purchase price.
Fantastic buy! Looks great and I love the unusual colour. That interior looks real nice too.

very cool, the 390 FE was a neat one.
Thanks again guys for all the comments. Yeah I feel like I stole it to be honest. Funny thing is, I found it while searching for Sidekick's and Tracker's I part quite a few out and was doing my daily search when I found this. Guy ended up buying a Tracker earlier in the day off CL , and when I went to look at car, told him how I found it in the search, and ended up selling him some Tracker parts while I was there. Good day

Ditto. If/when you've had your fun with it, please give us first crack at it. I'd love an old wagon like that. Plus, buying something like this would ensure the '71 Mercury wagon the g/f wants would show up for sale shortly afterwards.
