I'm having a problem with my WJ Grand Cherokee. With all the doors closed and the car off the lights will perodically turn on and then fade back off like I closed the door. It was a big problem before cause I drove it enough where the battery would charge but now that the g20 is my primary vehicle it's beginning to be quite annoying. I don't feel comfortable letting my girlfriend and her 2 year old drive it knowing they might get stranded. So my guess is it's the switch in one of the doors. How do I go about figuring which door it is and handling this? Thanks in advance.

The biggest problem with those was broken wiring in the drivers door harness, this is the one which goes from the body to the door in a rubber tube. The wires will flex and break inside, causing all sorts of strangeness. For whatever reason, the black ground wire in that harness is the worst offender. The techs would solder in a new piece of wire for each one that was broken, putting the solder joints outside the flex area.

Yup, if the door jumper harness isn't the problem, check the door latches. The door adjar switch is inside the latch.
