2001 Lincoln Town Car signature. Since I just bought one what should I know about them mechanically?

Buy a Fedora that matches the exterior color, a Churchill cigar and rest your right arm across the seat backs whenever driving.

I am jealous.

saw one with over 400k at a dealer auction last week. Ran like a watch. A quick scan of the computer indicated no codes triggered for the last 12k miles. amazing.

My dad has a low mileage 2005 (30,000 miles + this color combo too) that has been his baby. Recently his health changed and he cannot drive it so I drove it for a week and cleaned it up and parked it in his garage. Driving it feels right but coming from an Accord I watch that gas gauge move.......but I do push the go pedal hard sometimes too.

I've been trying in vain to pry my Dad's minty '00 Cartier from his grasp. Glad to see that they last that long, his has just a bit over 200K. Such a sweet car.

Darn I'm on a tablet and can't figure out how to post a picture. The car has one hundred and seven thousand miles on it. That works out to around 8300 year which means it hasnt been driven much.

My father always had Grand Marquis for Luxury cars.. if they are half as reliable as them.. they will run forever

I'm ready to have another one. I had a '87 that was the ultimate highway machine.

My neighbor inherited his grandfather's 05-ish Town Car a couple of years ago. It replaced a 97 Contour that he bought new. The Contour had 200-plus k on it and they finally bailed on it because the brake lines were rusted out. So, if anyone will test the longevity of these cars, it'll be him. Though it might take him 15 years...

I have had about 2 dozen Panthers as work cars, they are very easy to work on, if they stumble under power it is a plug wire. Problems are limited to the usual starters, alternators, coil packs, a very few fuel pumps.

Nothing else to go wrong, simple, classy ride. low 20s for mpg.
