Hi all !
A friend of mine has a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe with approx 60-70k on the odo. Are there any issues typical of these that would warrant a "Get rid of it before X miles" ? it is a V6 fwd, and any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

My mom has a 01 with about 80K on it. I think at about 60 K the timing chain failed (under warranty though) and she got a new engine. Other than that, it's been reliable as heck.
I had an '06 with the 2.7L and it was nice. They have a timing belt if I remember correctly. The water pump runs off the same belt so if you do one you might as well do the other at around 60k. We only sold it because it couldn't pull anything. I think the service interval on the auto trans. is 30k so make sure that was done. Otherwise, it drove like a car and seemed well put together. It would get 25 mpg on the highway going 70-75 mph. I thought that was good for it's size.
if only more companies built cars as well as Hyundai does now.. anybody remember how badly put together the first gen excel was two short decades ago?
Funny people still remember that instead of how good their cars are now
