Found this and thought I would poke the hive mind for information. I have always liked these (not keen on the Auto but whatever) and can imagine that the final price on this car to whoever is going to be down in the challenge territory. If I could manage to pull this together for under say 4k, I might have to go take a peek. Thoughts? What is there to know about these?

Well the internet is a small place. I found the guy that originally blew the motor. Looks like someone might be trying to flip it after a failed attempt to revive it.

I would not trouble yourself with it. The market for Swedish cars is pretty slow and cheap.

I sent an e-mail and already got a response. It appears to still be owned by the same guy, trying to sell it 7 months after it broke. My guess is that he won't budge and that makes me sad.

$2500 for a used motor plus install.

Car would have to go for $1000-$1500 to make any money.

That is probably why it has been for sale for 9 months.

Not horrible if you can do the work yourself. They are a thin on the ground combo. But anything higher than $2500 for that is too much. A long block can be had for under a grand.
