"Weaksmack! I saw you posted and expected more!" The days of good smack have long passed, some people just don't get it, then they come all the way from the other coast with a non-functional contraption that really isn't much faster than the Hoveround it was based on... I miss the good old Challenge days... I was in a nice way saying... Wow, autocross tires, Wheels you're actually going to try to finish ahead of my POS this year? Seeing Uranus making the top ten with his superduperfastcustom bug finishing 11th was priceless, well worth the $760 and 3 weeks I spent on it!

Just sent my project off on a trailer with its new owner

But it's all for the best....as a 99 Miata is taking it's parking spot in the driveway...

It won't be the first time.

No more enjoyable than watching the Mega Money Mini run 15's and running way slower than the black Bug in the A-x.

Holy crap, Wheels talking smack, actually good smack! Now if you can build a winning car you could be the whole package! But smack should be factual, Minissan ran very disappointing 14's and it drove like a boat (dingy) at the autocross. You are correct that it's a Mega Money Mini though, in fact it won $1,000 last weekend at the HIN/NOPI show in Miami. To date it's made about 6K and the trip to SEMA/Vegas, not bad for a 8K car (almost paid off). It's becoming one of the best known unpublished cars in the US (not bad for 14's, he he he). Granted it's featured worldwide in UK and Australian magazines and a Haynes book... Yes, my car makes more $$$ than me and it just sits there.......

So the question, as asked every year, is Wheels finally going to try to win the overall or continue to settle for mediocre? The want for autocross tires must mean he had someone that uses both sides of the brain help him build the car!?! Hmmm.....

Wow, I thought it was going to get really good there for a minute.....with the usual Andy and the clown banter leading the way.....but it stopped.... oh well, just have to wait till october, only like 6 weeks to go anyway.

You folks better bring it because this Challenger can turn! We'll just sort out a few cooling issues and we'll be rockin'. I think we surprised more than a few people yesterday, even in the rain.

Oh and Andy I think I have a line on your tires. I'm hopefully going to pick up a few sets this week. Either Dave or I will let you know when we have them.

A bunch of stuff. My car for one. They pair up nicely because they are the same diameter, but with a 2" width difference.

Yep, and our car is apart and the $1000 tow rig is extremely questionable and not doing so well. Sounds just like last year!

I think Greg forgets last year. Who replaces a non AC but otherwise fine working F150 with a rusted out Suburban?! I wish I had sold him my mother in law's '99 Suburban. That thing was MINT!

But that's NOT in the spirit of the challenge! C'mon, racing 2k cars, flogging the bejezus outta them and hoping they make it home..... That being said, I'm just hoping our engine lasts the length of the challenge.

You're gonna wish you sold it to him when you're picking us up on the side of the road!

Oh, and man, that thing is ripe. We took it white water rafting this weekend, and it smells BAD!!! It does have A/C, which the truck never had. He also had to do some 2am exhaust repairs and permanently install the battery with some plywood and Great Stuff expanding foam before the trek up to northern Maine. We also lit fireworks off of it, spilled beer all over it, and many other things I can't remember while we were up there.

If it makes it to FL and back, it will have pretty much traveled the entire length of Interstate 95, which I think is awesome.

I drove the 2011 car today, across the neighborhood. It is at $301.47 against the budget as of today.

On the list to do:

Wheels for the 17" tires

Stiffer/lower springs

Wheel flares

Moar Powar.

Uh I think just rear? Are you running staggered? It would be easier to answer if you would tell me what you're bringing!

The one year I don't see a count down clock here telling me I don't have nearly enough time to finish my Challenge Car and........ Somehow our car is almost Done! The details were painted on the Horses yesterday.

Our to do list is like:

Test Autocross this Sunday (and adjust as needed)

Add the Nitrous Kit

Wait out the 30 days before we wax the new paint

Put Stickers on car.

Make Team T-Shirts.
