Hey is anyone passing through ct, on their way to the challenge? I need some wheels and tires transported south.

Bring spare transmission and bribery beer to encourage parking lot install? I'll help install the beer.
Considering using this Water based paint on my challenge car, it's cheap and semi-permanent.

Easy now. Not all of us are so fortunate as to be able to surf clown pr0n all day, waiting for the next government check to roll in and pausing occasionally only to fill out a Dopi Nationals entry form/send emails to "Hot Import Tuner Compact Type-R-spec y0 Magazine" begging for a 3 page spread and a cover shot.

Got a date/timeframe for passing through Danbury?
Chalk up another 800 mile road trip in my challenger turned regular driver. It is just too comfortable and economical for me to not use it. Silky smooth cruise control, instantly effective auto climate control, intermittent wipers, Harman Kardon 10 speaker CD that rivals any factory system I've ever heard... I finally have every piece of electronic wizardry that is stuffed into my polished european walnut dash working properly.
Under HARD driving it pulls well up to the reprogrammed factory shift light at 5800 and still returns 23 mpg. Average highway driving at 75 mph is netting around 35 mpg. Boost levels vary with conditions and current gear; anywhere from 9 to 18 pounds on 93 octane.
There are still plenty of little issues and it IS kinda slow and IS NOT the most nimble thing out there... just little details...

Sounds heavy Any chance you'll gut once you get down to Gainesville?
I think Greg may need you to tow his Miata once his Suburban craps out. lol
An awesome guy I autocross with dropped off EIGHT (8!) Hoosier 275-35 tires last night! He runs them on his sweet turbo Miata and one day I just said to him "I'd love to find some cheap 275-35s some day" and he said "I have two pairs, it will save me money if you take them off my hands". And so I got them for FREE!
Entry form is in the mail!

I will be the first to admit that she is a big girl... you will have to try harder then that to hurt my feelings. If you must know, as she sits now I am estimating 14.5 pounds per horsepower, race trim might be as good as 14; far from terrifying numbers...
If needed I can probably fit the miata in my rear hatch, but roof racks might be an easier option since I think we could just lift it up there by hand...
I'm surprised no one is taking the bait to talk smack on my euro-trash pos family sedan which will probably puke its transmission onto the ground next to the christmas tree. I hope all the trailer queens and tin can toy cars out there are ready for the heat, I will just put my AC on full blast.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN- (and everyone else considering a trip to the Challenge)
There are currently less than 30 rooms available at the host hotel for the Challenge weekend. We've got a pretty good room rate from the Best Western folks, so NOW is a good time to make sure you'll have a room with the rest of us, even if all you plan to do is hang out by the pool.
Don't miss out on your chance to sleep during this event!

Ok, so the exhaust is a bit of a sore spot... Even if I had money or a welding ability, I wouldn't be eager to actually touch it at this point. There is corrosion to the point where each and every bolt has the potential to become a sheared, shattered or stripped nightmare. In the true spirit of the event, the exhaust system is held together by a combination of hope and inertia...

The only bolts that matter are the ones off the turbo. Cut the rest off. Drill the holes out, and slap a downpipe on there.

haha, not trying to talk smack :)
As she sits my vehicle is at about 13.5lbs per hp, with boost that number should fall to about 9 or 10 That's a big IF though. Not bad for a (___).

We leave Peabody, MA on September 28th around 10 AM so we'd be in CT around 12:30-1:00 PM
Hey, the Suburban is awesome! So it chatters in 4th sometimes. I don’t plan on using that gear anyway. I think it’s the converter but I already found a spare 1995 4L60E that I’m going to bring with me incase we have issues.
Jeff, if you still have that extra set of Hoosiers I’m tempted to try and stuff them under the Miata.

Hrmmm.... mine in challenge trim is about 7.5lbs/hp
The torque is more fun, though. 5.75lbs/tq. WOOOOOO

One pair is already spoken for (Andy). Do you want staggered or no?

I had them on my old Miata too.
Cheap, good looking, light...hrmm can't think of a good reason to keep running them...
Prompted by the other ratios, I decided to do the Math on our Mustang. 20.67 lbs/hp. So there is no need to fear us.
The Nitrous for the drag portion improves those numbers a hair, but they are still sucky.
But we will be sitting in air conditioned comfort. That's 2 years in a row of working A/C in 2 different cars. Anyone remember the heat from last year? It was melting the Floridians.
Nice score on those tires!
Is there going to be arm wrestling by the pool this year? I really wish I spent more time out there last year. I won't make that mistake again!
