So different I keep asking myself "WHY?" as I anxiously await what promises to be a most interesting autox run.

Go blow smoke somewhere else! I ain't buying no aw shucks country boy sand bagger hustle from you! If I can admit to bringing a warmed over daily driver that only a handful of shiny happy people actually ever purchased new, you can own up to bringing a tactical nuclear device to a knife fight...
TB, We have built 8 cars for the challenge since September of '03. 5 have gone to the challenge. 2 were sold before we could get them there and both performed very well. The current project is a neat piece, but will be a challenge to complete. You are more than welcome to come down and show me how to work harder and faster. I personally challenge you to show me how and to show any deceptiveness in what I stated above.

Easy, Killer! I think you have already forgotten more about working hard then I will ever know... In truth, the only reason my car is so slow is because I am so lazy...
I wouldn't ever accuse you of telling a lie, I have just figured out that what you don't say speaks volumes

Hope we don't let you down this year. Editted by request.
Where's the icon for "record scratch"?
I don't know a thing about Guido but it seemed like he was paying you a compliment on building something original and pushing the rule set to the limit.

I do.

Reread your above quoted comment.
Starting crap is normal a month before the event.
Editted - Folks read smack on the board and think there will be a fight...and scratch their head when people are sitting together eating dinner. Mike drove our car in '06. The previous post was toned down by request.
Man that stang is lookin' good. I actually quite like the decals on the side. Here's to hoping you guys do well on concours, if nothing else.
Decided to take a look at the rods bearings since I’ve been beating on the motor pretty good and there was lots of detonation last year. I guess my tune was a bit aggressive and did not like the 30 degree temp difference between MA and FL. Anyway here is a pic of the good bearing. Babbitt is scored and flaking off in spots. Pics of the bad one did not come out but it looks a little worse with some deeper groves. Crank looks perfect so hopefully when the cheap ebay bearings show up and can finally get the motor back together.
Andy, You and your family have built built some radical cars. I just wish I had the deadication to build a car like you guys do. But lack of a Garage for the last 6 years and no extra cash leaves me at home again. I have the car just no where to do the work I want to do to it. When it showes up I want you all to run scared. Think pull the pin and duck.

Great pic of you and the kid. FWIW, I spent 13 years working on other peoples cars learning as I went, and doing small projects on my cars, until I got my own garage. Lean in the direction you want to go and you'll get there.

You nailed it! He's touchy I guess because of all the hours and the possibility of not making the show. I have no idea what he's talking about in his babble but I guess I hit a nerve. Maybe he just freaked out when I said something nice? I guess the only word he could have a problem with is "questionable", it was meant as "what the heck is it, due to the different creations" Coward? Now that's just funny. Who else would put "Life Beats a Bud" in big letters on their factory race car at the Bud at the Glen race weekend. And then of course dress as a clown to rub it in their face... Hopefully Wheels gets a good night sleep.....
OK, back to the normal crap a month before the event....
Bryce, I don't think your email address on file with GRM is working. Send me an email with your current one so I can get back to you.
If anyone else has a known-good email address for him, please let me know.
My car and tow vehicle are ready for the long drive down I-75, still working out a trailer. I don't tow enough to justify buying my own.
Rental trailer options:
well, after three years of showing up and having fun, team gutty is burned out (especially myself, i work 70 hour weeks and make nearly no money the last few years).
for me is a money issue...i dont want to put the fuel in the truck tank, and if i take 4 days off, thats 5-10k thats not in the business bank account, and 4.9-9.9k in bills that arent being paid, and my dad isnt in the physical shape to do my job at the moment (glass/door/etc company).
our new project is completed in the major form,(engine built, turbo setup nearly done, AWD conversion done, etc) but its too far away from correct, and i dont have the money or time right now to pour into it..and luke and the boys live 2.5 hours away and work parties are hard to schedule this year.
it looks like we'll be there next year, but not back to defend our title this year.
sorry...not that anyone will really care...haha
we'll miss drag racing you this year pat, but i might see some of ya'll at maxton next spring.

Sorry to hear it Adam...I was looking forward to lining up with you guys again, but I understand where you're coming from.
As it gets closer to the spring, let me know if Maxton is a definite for you. I'm definitely in.
