I really admire the guys who come a long way for this. I'm blown away by the guys who actually drive The Challenge entry.
The longest part of my trip will be dropping my dog off at my dads house.
The Hello Kitty Racing Mustang is virtually done. The "to do" list before our next autocross testing session is down to a little bit of welding, and detailing under the hood.
I'm not a big fan of under hood detailing; It seems like a waste of time. This is the first year I'm doing anything more under the hood than wiping off the larger dirt glops. (I've cooked hot dogs under the hood before. They are not bad.)
We're back in business for this year. Miata's not coming, but we'll be there. Making hotel reservations this week.

Glad to see you guys get it together!
Our motor is back in the car and we are plugging away at it. Hopefully we can get it running again this weekend.
Is it sad that I'm more worried about our tow rig than our Challenge car?

Yessir. We had to sell lots of our turbo parts (turbo, manifold, modded ECU, etc) over the summer to keep our club running, but I just picked up a D15 bottom end we're going to drop in it. I would have preferred a D16, but I couldn't find one close that someone didn't want $700 for, so it looks like we're going with a mini-me swap. If we can find a cheap wet kit, we may throw some nitrous on it just to keep the drags interesting.
Stopped by my buddies apartment today and saw the progress over the last two weeks while I've been in Europe. Looks good...but LOTS to do in the next two weeks! We are still hoping for a turbo or two....

Does anyone else’s challenge car not run yet and is still in pieces all over your garage?

Mine runs and has driven aprox 15 ft thus far. Just picked up a new ECU last night - going to tune it this wekeend and it's done.. I have been working on it for 18 months and I am tired of it.
just got power to the starter on tuesday, Matts on a 6 week "shock and awe build"
Half of my car currently runs, I need to install another used fuel pump to get the other end going again.
Also, I'm still pulling the thing apart, swapping in cheaper stuff in the place of parts which pushed it over budget.
Thinking about painting the car in the hotel parking lot, throw down some tarps, crack a beer and go to town with tempera paint.
we still have to get stans new header installed run pipes and then get to detailing car r uns but we need to think about tires ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, do z car rims fit on a rx-7

Both the challenge cars here don't run and are in pieces. Starting 2 builds between 3 overworked people tonight.

I sort of got anxious last night when I realized the our Challenger is a more apart now than it was when we autoXed it 4 weeks ago...
Yesterday I found some used drag slicks already mounted on Mustang rims. (So we will have 4 matching rims, how posh) I'm an autocrosser and drag slicks are just plain odd to me. I'll probably test them next weekend at our planned autocross, unless I get the urge to do some driveway "testing" tomorrow. :)
