Wow, SuppleSaurus doesn't sound much like a Ford V-8. I wonder if it has a GRM-style homemade exhaust that changes the sound?
Also, the SuppleSaurus didn't spend much time at heavy throttle so that makes me think the autocross course is more handling than power. Kinda hard to tell from Arizona, though.
David
The important thing to remember about SuppleSaurus is that their clutch was stuck. The launch consisted of starting in gear and hitting the gas.
It's definitely a 5.0, though. I saw it with my own eyes.
More updates coming as soon as YouTube lets me...
More updates posted, including in-car with the Durocco.
It was their first run, not their best run. I wish the sound were more clear, too, because the phasing of the two motors was a very unique noise.

Thanks guys, they are Porsche Cup 1 replicas, a cheap craiglist pickup off of a Boxster or a 964.
The Wartburg ran great, and did far better at the AutoX than we thought it would, posting a 38.4 and making Alan McCrispin giggle a lot. Lots of fun stuff here, having a great time. Now its time to cool off in the pool and start drinking
wow, talk about some very kick butt toys and some very fast looking rides. anyone know how old tins 500 series is doing today? good luck to everyone tommor at the drags.
Yep, some awesome cars this year. If you're not here yet within driving distance, start making tracks for Gainesville.
3 runs right at 38.4 and one run at 38.0 - handling feels better than it looks - the word listing comes to mind. Street tires and could lose a couple of inches in ride height. The fast stuff was in the 32 and 33s. Most important thing this year was just getting here. Last year the project was too ambitious, this year, maybe a little conservative. Already thinking of possibilities for next go round. Lost of interesting stuff from Deutschland - I'm pretty much on sensory overload combined with sleep deprivation and having a berkeleying blast.
We got into the 35's with no power.. The power brake booster hose popped off since the check valve was in wrong.
That Jeep is awesome...
3 guys from canada - Ken Block Civic ripoff
Tom Heath, for the in-car videos, are you plopping a GRM camera in these vehicles? If so, major props to you for recording this stuff for the rest of us to enjoy. If you're collecting video from entrants, thanks to you and them for sharing.
David
Georgia Tech/Wreck Racing in the Lexus Miata is AWESOME! I love!
Also, the SooperTurd might be way boosted but it handles, too. Sweet!
David
yeah, mad props to Tom for keeping us informed! jthw8, i believe your last line summed it up best: get cooled off in the pool and drink!
