No manual- just paddle shifting auto.
unique suspension tuning (I've not actually driven a REAL SHO- just cars with the correct powertrain).
AWD only.
I think those are the most common points....
And I know some people won't like it, and that's just fine. I kinda doubt many on this board is really in the market for a brand new perfornace sedan anyway.

365hp AWD, think it will have the same kind of depriciation as the recent taurus, $10k used at 2 years old? Or even at 5 years.

other than that it looks good. can't wait to see what kind of power it'll make once the aftermarket gets ahold of them.

Not to be very specific, but there's data to indicate that this trend is actually going away. Which is very refreshing.
When you say recent Taurus, you really mean 2004, which was the last of the old body style. The new ones are holding their own a lot better.

well, yes, that era and the ones before it. My mother's last 2 cars, 1-3 year old tauruses sub 30k miles, $9,999. The current one is an '07 that started out as a rental

But Mercedes completely gave away the enthusiast market with that decision. Right now, if someone wants a high performance mid size sedan with a manual, their only choice is BMW.
My 540i with the 6 speed was spectacular. I wouldn't own it's automatic counterpart though.
Regardless - it looks like you've got a winner on your hands. Perhaps after the first year or two a manual option will be added, like Lexus has done in the past.

I understand the reasons.. still makes me sad.. hopefully they add it... I'm moving back up north and awd family rig with some power and a manual trans would be nice..
I like the Track Pack option!
Too bad it doesn't include things like weight reduction.

I like it. It would be a toss up between the SHO and the Flex for me....if I weren't in cheap mode.

I just saw two Taurus SHOs in a junk yard this weekend. The one I looked inside was an auto. I seriously wanted to buy one just for the engine--that thing is beautiful!

I'm not sold on the design. Upfront it's like a tweaked mondeo except not nearly as good looking. In the back it almost has the side profile of the 300c. It's like they were atempting a merger of the euro and americal styles by ramming them into each other.
On the other hand it is good to see the SHO is back, I'd be interested to see it compared against a G8 GT.

On the other hand, it's about a million times more interesting than the 2009 Taurus.
It reads much nicer than it looks.
Tthey should have done that with the Fusion. Smaller and lighter.
is it just me.. or do the door panels look a LOT like those from the E36?
It wouldn't take much for me to be in the market for this car. Let's say I get an overdue promotion at work and can afford a new car. The practical Kia goes to the spouse, and I get something to commute in and take business associates to lunch and the golf course in. I live in the snow belt so AWD would be nice, but I dont want a lumbering SUV. I kinda miss my old Intrepid R/T. BMWs are great, but at $40K they would be kinda stripped if new and I prefer top of the line models with all the bells and whistles. If I go 3series or A4 they are too small. So that means an SHO or Legacy Turbo Wagon, perhaps a Tiguan or GLK, maybe a Saab or Volvo. I would defintealy have the SHO on the list.
