The automatic transaxle in my 2011 Elantra GLS is going to be replaced under warranty at 74k miles. So far the dealer and Hyundai have been great about it and not trying to deny the claim.
Anyone have any insite on how much of the front end comes apart for that?
Basically I'm wondering if the mfg procedure includes performing an alignment.
If it doesn't then I will pay to have it done, since the last time it had on was 20,000 miles ago.
Thanks,
Joe
It's basically an unbolt/bolt procedure so alignment should not be a problem.

I was thinking steering alignment since the front suspension needs to be separated to get the axles out.
Just not sure if there was anything else that was removed that would cause them to do a front end alignment.
I just don't want to offer to pay for a service if it is already part of the warranty work being performed.
Popping the ball joints shouldn't effect alignment.
As long as they don't mess with the tie rods, good to go.

That what I thought, just wasn't sure if any subframe components needed to come out.
I'll schedule an alignment while it's in for the transaxle replacement.
Thanks for the feedback.
