I doubt they're going to come out with a 2.3 EcoBoost when they already have a 2.0-liter. The market doesn't justify it.
That'll prolly be how they gain the extra ponies without straining the 2Leb....
Bonus points if they call the gt suspension pack on the boosted 4 the SVO package
Now if they can shave 300+lbs on that ecoboost 4 then we are in business. I might look at a stang if I can REALLY get 34 mpg on the highway and have it weigh in at less than a corvette.
Hmm... I kinda like the other concept sketch I've seen. It was on Autoweek daily a month or two ago. Cleaner and less retro looking, which is a design direction I agree with now the Chevy and Dodge have sort of saturated the retro-look muscle car market. The rumor of it being lighter with IRS and being more of a "world market" car is also encouraging.
We shall see...

Like this Musta... whoops Aston Martin?

Funny... I came up behind one of those driving to work a few years ago, from a distance I thought it was a Mustang at first until I got closer.
In reply to Ian F:
There's a 2013 development mule out there that's already been fitted with the new rear suspension.

So it's either Mustang VI.
or I'm not sure why replacing an engine with one that has as much performance, weighs less, is smaller, and will probably gets better gas mileage is a bad thing.
Another way to look at it, the odds of a RWD EcoBoost 4 crate enigne goes up considerably if this happens.

Now THAT is a way awesome thought.

I don't think the brakes were even applied at hideous..... It is still careening toward grotesque.

Best looking Mustang ever made.
All I know is that a fellow board member has an Eco-Boost F-150 that is putting out some serious HP (sorry I can;t recall who and am far to lazy to do a search) and it is cool as hell. I vote for the Mustang with 4, 6 and 8 cyl eco-boost options!

Amen. Given all the flack we've heard about the new Camaro's styling, I'd better hear screams of pain from the Mustang camp or I'm labeling everyone a hypocrite.

Label me a hypocrite.
Taste is subjective. I would think all of us would realize that by now. The picture of the new Mustang isn't what I would have preferred, but then again neither is the current one. However, I think both are vastly better looking than the Camaro. That's how I see it. Doesn't make me a hypocrite by any stretch of the imagination.
I was thinking something more along the lines of the Evos concept car.
The retro thing has been fun and I have no dislike for the current car, but it's time to move on.

Nice!
If the Aston looks like a Mustang, and (EDIT for typo:) now the Mustang looks like an Aston... What happens when they catch each other?
Except for the hideously huge wheels and sketchy headlight design, I like this artist concept.
If an Ecoboost four-banger helps shave off a few hundred pounds, count me as a fan. I'd seriously consider buying one - if it was in the budget.
In reply to ransom:
For that Vantage, the Mustang pre-dated it by some time. That looks like the late 60's version, and not the original. Aston didn't come out with it until 1977, well into the Mustang II styling. Odd to see a late '60's car come out in the late 70's like that, and last the better part of another decade.
