Honda's latest little SUV is the HR-V--a kind of pumped-up version of their FIt.

A bit of interesting info for you JDM fans out there: The HR-V nameplate isn't new, and Honda used it from 1999-2006 for a mini-SUV not sold here.

My brother took a couple pictures at the auto show where the sign was partially blocked and read HPV and HIV. We're a bit immature.

I took Uber the other day and was picked up in an HRV. Interior was very nice, the weird thing though it had cameras on the mirrors, as soon as you turned the turn signal on, it would pop up the picture of that side of the car on the infotainment screen.

My wife's Civic Si sedan does that.

This is one of those features that seems ridiculous until you have it.

I would second that emotion.

It seemed cool, but takes your eyes away from the mirror/side of the car, which struck me as weird. I don't like looking at a screen for everything!

Putting the screen in the mirror would be better I think. I have seen a few vehicles where the rear view camera screen is in the rear view mirror which makes sense to me.

I think its the right side only for the screen, which makes sense, since it reduces the distance from out front, so makes it easier to pay attention to where you are going, and make sure your lane to the right is clear at the same time. Isn't used for the left, probably because it would force you to look right to turn left.

We test drove this exact model before buying my wife a Forester XT. I really really wanted it because it's based off the Fit platform and came with way more options than the FXT Touring at a $8k less price tag. I really enjoyed it's driving characteristics, looks, and the better sound system/infotainment were also huge. Unfortunately the wife loved her outgoing Foz too much and the dealer threw us a great deal on the FXT that had been sitting on the lot for a while. Not complaining about a WRX based grocery getter but we could have saved some coin and gotten just as much utility.

I am very close to ordering a HRV EX 2wd with three pedals. The dealer emailed me yesterday to say we can order the 2017s now but he doesn't have a configurator.

I would get the fit if you're just going for the 2wd manual. The only thing the Hrv will have over the fit is a SLIGHT ground clearance. I told my wife we won't buy another Honda Fit until they release it in AWD. Looks I'll make that deal true. The price tag is right. It make not be the right AWD, but it'll work for the winters around here.
