More or less, but there's speculation that the Fiat will use different engines, and probably have a turbo Abarth version at some point.

It's amazing that we will have a 2017 reveal and it's not even 2016 yet.

Ya ya I get it, it won't be available until next year and probably later in the year but...........damn.

I'm going to try to build one before that.....

I got the email from Fiat yesterday. Assumed it would look like a Miata/MX5/whateverthepuristscallit.

Maybe they decided that there was just too much rust and scrapped it.

Yes looks like a Miata with some really bad plastic surgery.

I read "2017 Fiat 124 Recall" and thought, wow, they are recalling cars before they are even on the market.

The new Fiat 124 looks great. It's the best looking NB Miata body kit I've ever seen.

It's a mix of Datsun 280z and NB Miata

I see that as an updated 124 shape than anything else- since it pre-dates the Z and the Miata by a way.

One interesting point- the original 124 didn't have the bumps in the hood, just the later ones. The current designers felt that they were characteristics of the car and kept them.

But even the rear fenders, with the tiny creases that protrude above the trunk- hinting of a fin- are still there. Even if the middle of the trunk is higher than those creases.

Looks really good.

They had a blue one in there too. Overall I like it. I really like that it has the 1.4 multiair motor in it. That means it should be an easy path to 200 WHP if the Abarth is any indication.

Overall I think I would go this route over the miata unless they completely screwed something up.
