PM sent - let me know if you didn't get it.
I must say, you guys are all mechanical heroes to undertake this and then not give up on it.
When SVreX posted this:
There might still be a few issues to sort...
the reverse accelerator pedal seems to be high on the list. Lift off the pedal for WOT, push to the floor to decelerate...
I realized that if it were me, at that point mid-afternoon of day 2, I likely would have killed it with fire.
In reply to glueguy :
Eh, it wasn't really fully reversed, more that if you touched the pedal it died. "Pedal backwards" was just what my sleep-deprived brain spit out under pressure

If you would have seen us messing around trying to get a fuel pump setup working by submerging an in-tank fuel pump into a beer can with the top ripped off full of gas and pumping through re-claimed automatic transmission hard metal lines into a fuel rail developing as much pressure as possible due to vice-gripped return line while switching the pump on and off by touching wires to a battery (makes a small spark every time), you might have mistakenly thought we were trying to kill it with fire.
In reply to Robbie :
Wait... We weren’t trying to kill it with fire??
I think I misread the instructions...
A bunch of guys standing around sheepishly, saying, "sorry Mr. Hotel Manager, we'll repair the asphalt....."
I should have the time lapse done tonight, any soundtrack suggestions?
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger?
Yakkety Sax?
Here it is (embeds still not working?):

Very cool. So much in there I already don't remember. Thanks for putting that together!
Renegades of Funk by RATM made a good soundtrack;-)
Thank you all for sharing your experiences. As I said before, y’all are amazing!
Sure should've, I didn't even know people were still working on it at the track until I was shocked by the sight of the AW11 driving out of the pits under its own power! What I would've liked to get even more though, is the earlier work on Wednesday night/Thursday morning for some more visual variety. I suspect Friday would've looked like just a bunch of people huddled over the rear of the car.
In reply to GameboyRMH :
There were people huddled over the back of the car, but you also would have gotten a decent number of us running in and out of frame, walking in circles looking for stuff, and looking very nervous.
This looks like it will happen!
We Need Stuff!
(Unfortunately ASAP!):

Am I understanding that you bought this car, and intend to parking lot build it?
I was the owner last time.
You need to talk to Robbie ASAP. He knows what that car needs. It's a more involved than just stick a wiring harness into it.
The clogged fuel tank is the biggest hurdle.
Having said that, there is a shortcut for the Challenge. Run the car as if it was naturally aspirated. NA computer and harness. Don't try to control the SC with the computer. Set the SC at a preset level, and let it run continuously.
Janky, but it will get you there.
The SC harness is a unicorn, and unlikely you will have it in hand by Friday. Your time would be better spent working on other things.
Yeah a SC harness is high-enriched unobtanium, we'd have to rig something up again...I just happened to pack a crimping tool.
In reply to SV reX :
We are in a group email that hasn't been brought to the thread yet chasing those details. Fortunately Robbie is involved. I hadn't thought of the constant SC drive method.
I really wish I could make this as this was my first visit to the challenge and the first build I ever worked on. Glad to hear you have a wiring harness as I spent a massive amount of time trying to adapt the NA harness, including making connectors and re pinning too many wires. I seem to remember that there was a thought that the AFM was wired backwards or that there was a difference between the NA and SC versions that was causing a problem.
Looking forward to seeing this on Sunday.
In reply to Fladiver64 (Forum Supporter) :
I have similar nightmares of 5 wire and 6 wire igniters.
Very happy this is being picked back up! Can't wait to see it again.
