2018 Finger Lakes Region SCCA Rallycross Schedule

If you haven't tried rallycross yet, there's almost no better way to spend a Saturday than sideways in the dirt.  

The Finger Lakes Region SCCA has seven events currently scheduled for the 2018 season.  The first two events will be run at Perry's Park for (with the first event this Saturday the 13th!), and we've secured the field at Watkins Glen for the remaining five events.  New drivers are encouraged and welcome, and we're always happy to see veteran RX'ers from other regions come out to play.  

Addresses for our two sites are:

• Perry's Park - 4538 Caledonia Rd, Leicester, NY 14481-9609
• Watkins Glen - 2790 County Route 16, Watkins Glen, NY 14891 (Just past WGI Lot 6, on Kuhl-Winner Way)

The schedule is posted below; however, if you're planning on coming out, it's always a good idea to check the FLR Facebook site or the FLR home page for any last minute updates, weather-related reschedules, etc.

• January 13 - Perry's Park
• February 10 - Perry's Park
• May 19 (Rain Date May 26) - Watkins Glen
• June 16 (Rain Date June 23) - Watkins Glen
• July 28 (Rain Date July 29) - Watkins Glen
• August 11 (Rain Date August 25) - Watkins Glen
• September 22 (Rain Date September 30) - Watkins Glen

I won’t lie - it’s pretty fun when someone asks what you’re doing this weekend to casually drop, “oh, I’m racing at The Glen”.  The RX course is within earshot of the track, so some of the videos end up having pretty fun GT1-esque soundtracks!

We had to cancel the first event due to field conditions (thanks global warming), but fingers are crossed for good conditions for the February 10th event.  As always, please be sure to check the FLR SCCA Book of Faces for last minute updates.  The weather this time of year is more variable than a CVT, but that just makes it more challenging.

Not much longer till the first summer event at Watkins Glen.    If you're nearby, come on out and have some fun on May 19th!

Welp, this saturday's event had to be canceled due to poor field conditions.  Hope to see you there on June 16th, or at other events later in the season!
