Ford has not officially killed either of these, but no plans have been announced either.  Perhaps if we make enough of a stink, they will bring them here.  Some kind of special GRM/Ford joint venture?

That's right, more power, launch control, track mode and a limited slip, stock.  This thing would RULE at the autocross.  But no plans for it in the US because we like trucks and SUVs so much.  OK...

The smaller Ranger is coming to the US and there is an awesome Raptor version!  Big tires!  Awesome shocks!  Turbo power!  For Indonesia!  Wait, what?

Apparently, we in the U.S. will have to console ourselves with the fact that the Fiesta ST can't out run a dude on a bike.  smiley

I’m predicting they sell four of those.

They'll sell a lot more than 4.  Target market: dads who want something "fun" but their wife won't let them buy a sports car.

Yeah, we already discussed the Edge heavily, and that was kind of the consensus. The Explorer is also going back to RWD-based next year, and the rumor is that we are going to get an Explorer with a 400+hp EcoBoost V6. People keep buying SUVs, Ford is going to keep making SUVs

I think Ford would be silly to not sell a version of the Ranger Raptor here at some point. It won't have that diesel engine, and it won't come until the base Ranger has been on sale awhile, but it would be surprising to spend time/money designing and engineering the hardware for it and then not use that tech anywhere but the Asia/Pacific market. Americans have an unquenchable thirst for bro trucks. Ford has an unquenchable thirst for profits. It's not too crazy to connect the dots. I'm guessing the Ranger Raptor is available in the US to compete with the Colorado ZR2 by 2020 or 2021. Although it may be a different market by then.

I predict they sell more Edge ST's than Focus ST's in it's first year. I think small cars are a dead end as much as that hurts me and the Fiesta is short for this (USA) world. They're better off focusing on fuel savings through ways other than shrinking the car. The Ranger Raptor will come, but if they announce it before the rollout of the regular truck they will lose a LOT of hype about how good the regular truck is as all anyone will talk about is the baby Raptor. Let the press fawn over the standard truck for a year and then give them the good one. Oh, and they need to shake down the motors for a year too and decide which to run with.

It kills me that an American car company refuses to bring their best products to America.  Sadly Ford has done this for years, we never got the Sierra Cosworth, Escort Cosworth, previous Focus RS', etc, etc.

LAME!!!

I'm curious why Ford extended the US version another year

Way to get rid of excess inventory at the Factory ?  They did make a few changes.

Ford's product planning announcements have been few and far between with this new management.

They announced a tiny facelift of the Fusion this week, too, and then didn't want to talk about whether the model will survive to 2020 even though they've already told all the lines they won't be making it and already scrapped the new chassis program.

Super weird. Makes me feel like the current management isn't really interested in product so much as goosing the stock price with autonomous-car hype. I guess we'll see if they announce a version of the Flex that can mine bitcoins.

MAn, a lot of bitching from people who as a group tend not to buy new cars.

Automakers sell what people want to buy.

Wasn't a big part of Fords global platforms to stop this nonsense?  Did it once for the Focus RS and then right back to what they did before.

I bought the Gen 1 Fiesta ST new, and would buy the Gen 2 if it were sold here.

Stop what nonsense.  Global platforms don't mean that every vehicle is sold in every country, it means that the same platform is used for the same size and class of vehicles is used across regions, no more independent platform development.
