I am always amazed at how much the pros are sawing the wheel and correcting slides and such. It looks so smooth from the outside, but they are really working to keep the car on a razor's edge. Consider me impressed.

It's even more impressive from the right-seat. I've done that several times and my "oh sh*t" meter was pegged constantly on corner entry (that's where those guys make all their lap time vs amateurs).
I know a guy that raced IMSA some and does rallycross. Yes he is always way more active on the wheel than you'd imagine. He also runs times most people just dream about. On the rare occasions I've seen video of myself I'm surprised how much I'm doing as well.
