As part of the Honda Team Program I could buy or lease a Civic Si at a good price.
A) If the company I work for has one in stock
B) Do I really want or need all the amenities and nannies that a new car comes with? (Yes, I can be something of a luddite.)
C) Turbo
D) Manual Trans
Test drive something with current Honda Sensing systems and figure out what you think of them and how hard they are to turn off if you don't like them.
We're about to do that with an Accord as the last shot at a contemporary car before we give up and find something older to bridge the gap to improvements in these systems.
After having made this mistake once, I won't buy a car of the modern era without finding out how intrusive, how reliable, and how hard to shut off these are. Just try things like moving over in your lane like you want to leave someone squirrelly some extra room and see what it does. Get into a little traffic and see whether it starts second guessing you on where to brake.
I'm totally turning into that guy, but after spending $40k to be constantly annoyed, I'm leaning into it.

You are 100% spot on. When we went to the Rolex 24, we had a 2025 Telluride as a rental. Fantastic vehicle, somewhere around 50 too many nannies. We traveled a lot on the highway while we were there and it annoyed the heck out of me.
Get off my lawn.
@Noddaz - get the Si!
Now regarding electronic nannies.. I'm all about the nannies if they help me avoid a collision. I signal my lane changes so that's no worry. The only one that I don't like enough to talk about it is the computer's "panic braking" (when a car is actively turning out of my lane). That IS annoying. But again - if it helps me avoid a collision I'm okay with it.

I signal my lane changes, too; the Audi Q8 loaner would actively try to re-center you if you moved within your lane to give a sketchy driver more room. I don't know about Honda, but that's why I suggested test driving.
EDIT: They're still working on the Q5 and just swapped out the Q8 with expiring temp tags for a Q4. My wife reports that it starts beeping at you if you exceed its (not necessarily accurate) idea of the current speed limit by 3mph. She shut it off but it was back on at the next start.
