I'm getting ready to order some new summer tires for my 2000 Miata. I've used 205/50-15 on two NA's in the past and I really liked them on those cars. Any reason not to use that size on an NB? The original size on this car was 185/60-14, so a straight Plus 1 would be 195/50-15.
Nope. No reason. 15x8s wrapped in 205/50-15 = awesome.
No reason, other than 225/45/15 is wider

I've been running 205/55-15 on mine for the past 4 years or so. I figured a little more circumference would help with the abysmal gearing a bit.
I run 205/55-14 on my 99 NB. Fit just fine. Haven't sprung for 15" rims yet. Have 3 sets of 14".

I've run that size on a 15x6 with no issues either.
DO IT WODDY!
Nope. Perfect size for the NB. Had those on both the NA and the NB I had.

I have a set of 15x7 Kosei's that I am selling, will know tomorrow if my buddy is going to pass on them. Perfect shape, with lug nuts, $300. And I can mount/balance tires on them for free! Also which tires you considering?
And if you have your own wheels, I usually mount for friends at $30/set (to cover supply costs, maintenance on machines (which I need to catch up on!). Just let me know.
Edit - and I am actually headed to TireRack in Windsor tomorrow morning. I shouldn't really put another set of tires on my credit card, esp with an impending home purchase, but if it helps out, let me know.
205-50/15's on a 7" wide wheel is what Spec Miata runs. Make sure you get the right offset.
The correct offset would be?

These are going on 15x7 Konig Rewinds with a 40mm offset.

I have been running 205s on 15" BBSs on my 93LE for years.
