Need to get some tires for my EK Civic, haven't paid attention to the summer/performance tires in that size in a while.
Thinking about the Federal RSR. (https://www.amazon.com/Federal-RS-R-Racing-Performance-Radial/dp/B0077I8U5A)
Looking for something summer/performance, won't be used in bad weather. Probably not going to put much mileage on them.
Any other suggestions? I like Azenis, it has some from 2007 on it now. Federals are silly cheap.
People say the RSR is loud but works fine for the price. I've been very happy with my Federal tires.
Continental Extreme Contact Sport. I have them in that size on my Mazaspeed Miata.
Summer tires not to be used below 40 degrees F. And have a good reputation in the wet.

Aniother +1 for the Contis. I have them on my Yaris. They are great. A friend of mine said he actually did some g-force readings on his S197 Mustang at an autocross and found that the Contis pulled almost the same g-forces as the RE71R.

If you're willing to wait a week, I'm going to be taking my Yaris out to a track and doing some tire-testing, along with an EF Civic Si, on a bunch of 205/50R15s for a guy I know. I can post the results here.

The tire looks backwards to me. I thought they channeled water from the center out.
(edit) I assumed that the left of the photograph was the back of the car, ignore me.

With the SCCA discount, the Azenis are almost as cheap as those Federals (might even be cheaper if you can pick them up from TR yourself).

I have liked the bfg rival 1.5s but on the higher price side. On the fun performance daily I like the bfg sport comp2 and just bought Firestone indy500's. Initial reviews on the Firestone's are good but only have 200 miles on them.

Where do you find Sport Comp 2 or Indy 500's in 205/50-15?
If you're not competing for anything and don't mind how loud they are. The federal 595-RSRR is a decently capable and fun tire. But they are truly loud when driving about.
They're also crazy cheap regularly. I got all four of mine with recent build dates for 332 shipped. You can probably do better shopping around or with eBay coupons if those still exist.

Argh apparently the sport comp 2's are no longer easy to find in 205/50/15. Had a set on a buddies miata last year so appparently times change. I have run the bfg's in multiple sizes of 18" and loved them as a performance daily.
The Firestones I just picked up are 18's - bummer they don't seem available in 15.

I ran stock size (235/45/17) Continental Extreme Contact Sports at a track day in the rain on my stock suspension 2015 WRX and the AIM Solo data said 1G in the corners. Needless to say I was damned impressed and I'll recommend them to anyone.

Azenis are under $100 each from a vendor I already use so deciding between those and the Federals still.

I've been really happy with the firehawks on my Ralliart wagon DD, but not available in 15 inch. They weren't too bad at an autocross, either.
Yup. Love the rs-RR on the miata. Blow goats in the rain though. But, stupid cheap and grippy.

I ended up getting Hankook Ventus V2 for $65 through one of my vendors. Should be perfect for my use.

You're making me look forward to the presents Tire Rack is having delivered to my shop today.
Rt 615k is my all around favorite 200tw. Plenty of grip, decent in rain, last decently long.
I beat on the 595-rsrr this week at the track for the first time (I've had the previous rsr tire on the track previously) and these are light years ahead of the single r tires. Very impressed with the communication on the limit compared to the old ones! I know you're not looking anymore, but thought I would throw that up.
