Someday, I hope to work on a really extraordinary car.

considering the fuel it was designed to work on.. it probably has a nice boost friendly compression ratio

Yeah, but where are you going to find a chain large enough for the final drive?
Can you imagine, the rumor of cars having only existed for a few decades, and seeing that death machine? Look how much it bucks on startup; looks like death to me.
I'm a little surprised that nobody's mentioned the very nice 1966 (I think) Barracuda in the background.

Blacksmith.
Am I the only one interested in the vintage trans am looking cuda in the background? Pretty sure it has team starfish painted on the door, and that's ringing a bell in my melon for some reason.
Damn fiat is incredible. I love the pre-ww1 race cars.

This. I would be totally okay being that eccentric guy working in an old wooden barn on relics lost to history, digging up their pasts and bringing them back to life. Hell, maybe I could pick up a British accent to complete the image...
Time to start perusing CL again for that elusive old barn find. Requirements: spark advance on the steering wheel.
In reply to Woody:
This.
Sure, I noticed the Starfish Barracuda. I even thought it was pretty cool. But not anywhere near as cool as a vintage Bugatti, made all the more tantalizing by the cover!
...and the FIAT was simply jaw-dropping!

I would even consider wearing a tie to work.
