I'm just looking forward to seeing the first bro-dozed Nissan Titan. As another Cummins employee, the 2.8 really is not bad. I know for a fact it can be turned WAY up It shares almost nothing with the 5.0 and isn't even made in the same plant. The 5.0 isn't bad in the first place, it just had a hard time finding a home.

I used to have photos, can't find them, of this crazy homebuilt tractor trailer thingy that had an aircooled Deutz V12 diesel. It was wild.
As for the Cummins, not that impressed. A Honda J-series makes nearly as much torque, at half the weight, is easier to adapt to other vehicles, has a more usable RPM band, and is readily available at junkyards for ~$500.
If I was going to add more noise and smell to something I'd go with a two stroke Detroit.

my buddies grandpa has an aircooled inline 6 Deutz engine from a tractor in a 70's Ford one-ton, its pretty awesome
