At least we know they are working on it cause it's changing, but it's still broke.
No, sorry. I'm in IT. I know how these things work. Your problem was fixed. It no longer says 502 error but it is completely different now, by your own statement, quoted above. You're going to have to call the Help(less) desk and get a new ticket going for that. This will likely require a new Change Request (form available online for your convenience), and if we rush it, we can get it fixed in 3 months. If you complain, we’ll scream and repeat “SOX SOX SOX” until you just give up.
I like the 404 page better. They have a neat picture of an old map.
Maybe if you can put a pic of a bacon-wrapped Miata on the 502 page, people would be happier...
I'm still having intermittent problems making any sort of connection. It took me 3 tries and about a 15-20 second wait for me to connect to the forum.
I just ran a speed test while I was typing this and I'm connected @ 2.478 Mbps so it wasn't my connection speed.

I liked the old 404 pic better..it was a roadside car fire, IIRC..
For what it's worth, there's lots of effort going into eliminating these errors. I've just spent the last few hours resizing photos from Reader's Rides and classified ads to reduce the server load. Keep your fingers crossed, hopefully it will help.
I like the 404 pic with the flaming car too, but the one on the classic site is better still. (Baxter and I argued the point earlier tonight.)
Ya'll are getting your error pages confused.
404 is file not found. We couldn't find what you were looking for. We're lost. So that one uses the map and compass pic on both sites. It looks better on Classic, mostly because the pic is bigger: http://classicmotorsports.net/404/
500 is server error. There was a problem putting the page together somehow. E36 M3 done blown up. That's the one GRM uses the flaming car for. CM uses this one:
I think you mean http://classicmotorsports.net/404/
I know it's early but the above link goes to a domain 'parker'.
Is it me or is the whole board slowing down. I have never been a proponent of the new software but hay advertising and $$$$ are a must to keep things going so I understand. BUT for the last couple three weeks things have been really slow. I sometimes can not even get to an error page. It just sits ad clocks. Or I get in to a page / thread and I try to back up or click on a thread and again it just clocks. there has always been a delay here when navigating and I attribute it to the software and all the content that has to load with every new page. I have several computers that I use and the problem is the same on all computers over different networks so I dont think it is an internal problem on my end.
This is just an FYI or a heads up. Being that the cost to use this great site is what it is I can not complain to much. But as I have said in the past it was the website and the forums that got me to subscribe. This really is GRM's front door the to the world. A slow poorly working website that gets you frustrated to the point that you surf of some where else is probably not what GRM wants.
You know thinking about it. It is as if you can not cash the grim web site. with the huge amount of graphical content on each page and what appears to be the lack of cashing could be the problem. It am betting that the problem is with the dynamic adds or the adds that have video in them. Tie this in with all the security stuff on most systems/networks and I can see this causing the problem.
Ok I have rambled on WAY to much here.
Tons of 504 errors for me in the last ~2 hours. I think it is a gateway timeout if I recall correctly.
Good to know I'm not the only one. I kinda thought I was, as I'm on a 10 year old Dell running Linux and my roommate's been playing MW2 nonstop on our very sketchy internet connection... Plenty of points for failure there.
I'm glad everyone else is having trouble too. I thought I was having flashbacks to my old 56K dial-up.

I know what you mean, but it sure would be a whole lot better if none of us were having problems.
Well, I feel y'all's pain. Well, maybe not so much..like Oddball said in "Kelly's Heroes".. "..I only ride em. I don't know what makes em work.."
The TV company I work for moved off videotape, and onto server playback for media a few years back. The playback & storage servers are pretty reliable, but the database & transfer systems have problems on a daily basis. We don't call the attempted fixes "upgrades" any more..they're thrown together so fast, and have so many bugs we just call them "new software".
