17x7, +40 offset, 225/45/17-sized tires are toast. Seller sent me some more pics; there is some very minor curbing and scratches. Can't test fit them because the RX-7's off the road with brake problems. Are 5Zigen's good rims? This a decent price? Anyone know of any possible rubbing or caliper clearance issues? Stock wheel/tire is 15x6, +40, 195/60/15. Rim/tire calculator (http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp) says there shouldn't be any fitment problems.

Also, any idea what tires I should put on them? These would be summer street rims for my FC if I buy them. I'm looking for a hi-performace summer tire with decent grip in the wet and not too expensive.

well I know the RACING LUG NUTS will make your car faster On a more helpful note, I'm pretty sure 5Zigen makes good rims but that's all I somewhat know about this topic. You could poke around rx7club.com too, I'm pretty sure they have a wheel fitment thread but its been a while since I had my RX7 and was on there.

EASY fit on an FC.

I double-checked da club, and it looks like they'll be fine. Thanks, guys. I'm going to look at them tomorrow.

Now, any tire suggestions? Since these will be summer street rims, I'd like something with good grip dry or wet and relatively inexpensive. Maybe something with predictable limits since I'm still a novice and the (snap-oversteer inducing) toe-steer system will be staying for now.

I never had a problem with the "rear-steer" system on the FCs. I have a feeling it is one of those things that isn't a huge problem but the internet blew it way out of proportion. I'm a fan of the Falken Azenis tires and the Hankook RS-2s. 225/45-17s should fit fine. You could go wider in the rear but IIRC, the front is limited to a 225 without going to coilovers or bigger fenders.
