OK, so my B-I-L is getting married (again) in June this coming year. That means I have 6 months to find the perfect car in the Phoenix/Tucson area to bring home, convince the wife it needs to be done and execute.
Requirements: GM, RWD, V8, fuel injected. Body clean (paint can be E36 M3 no cares), interior intact, under $2500. Must be usable as a daily and CAM car. No Corvettes at this time, unless they are C5's.
This is purely a cold winter thought exercise so go!
I'll start this off with this gem:
perfect

not a single one of those in budget, and not GM. You are terrible at this.

You expect a GRMer to follow directions?

That's a pretty specific set of requirements - GM embraced FWD before they widely adopted FI. If you are thinking cars, about all I can think of are F-bodies, G-bodies and B-bodies. Are you ok with TBI? For $2500 I think your best bets are gonna be the LT1 4th gens and b-bodies (which have real multi-port injection). An L98 3rd gen would be nice too, but they are auto-only.
Are two-door S-10 Blazer's allowed in CAM?

This sounds more like a dare. I'm gonna go with sunbeam tiger.

Last time I checked, a Nova is a Chevy.

MISSED it... but still over budget and missing cylinders.
And yes, I cut my teeth on TBI's, trucks and b-bodies.
Not going to lie... this is pretty impressive:
land yacht
also this:
awesome
Obviously, the rules are arbitrary here.
Ok, I'm having seriously bad thoughts about that turd gen Z in the first post. To the point where I wonder if I could live with a turd gen as a daily and selling the Not-so-Super kia

What are your thoughts on growing a mullet?

It wouldn't be the first time.
Malibu, Gran Prix or the Olds/Buick on the same platform.
It came with a 267 V8 and throttle body. They can be made to handle and they can accept pretty much any swap ever conceived. $2500 will get you two of them around here (but... rust) so plenty of budget left for junkyard upgrades AND buy from the SOUTH.
I think I could probably daily this.
In reply to bastomatic:
That would be a really nice road trip car for the ride home too.

I've looked at that one a few times...

Then I'd say it's a winner!
ok, so the wife just bought a new dining table and gave me the OK on this project. so... now to look for the perfect one!
Fuel injection really narrows down your options, some or the later G bodies, some third gen F bodies, a handful of box B bodies, all of the rounded B bodies, that's about it.
Arizona G-body plus rust-belt OBD1 LT1?

And S10's. full size trucks, thrid and fourth gen F-bodies, B-bodies from 88-on. Also considering crowd killers. I don't like carbs.
Also, I'm flying into Phoenix friday the 9th. So we have time here. the #1 pick for me is in the original post. Unfortuantely I'm not there and cannot go see the car and the inlaws, while willing to go pick it up for me are not car people.
Really, RWD and pushrods are my # 1 want list right now.
