Acquired a bunch of parts to get the Ranchero civilized, an OEM brake booster, a Lokar kickdown cable, an electric fan, a 3.7 ring and pinion, a new dipstick tube and some other basics.
This is a very handy ute. Gina and I took it to Menards and Meijers yesterday, it hauled our bounty and did it with so much more style than just another Ford/Chev/Mopar pick up.
i love el caminos/rancheros.
they do everything a normal homeowner needs, and do it well.
wonder if the automakers will bring them back to our shores?
im also jealous of the fact that youre using and driving yours. it looks good.
we were actually talking about ranchero's at work today, yours seems to contain alot less rust then most of them we have seen around northwest ohio.

We installed a brake booster this weekend, had to swap some parts around, used the Mustang master cylinder due to fitment issues, changed the firewall opening a little, but other wise it was pretty straight forward, now the Zombiechero has joined the braking systems of the 80's 
We have the rear end out, installing the 3.7 gears and a mini spool.

Well the diff didn't go as planned, got it apart just to find out it is an 8", not a 9", so none of my parts will fit. This will be revisited but in the meantime, back together with fresh fluid.

Rust has won this one, the frame is rusted through at the rear where the suspension mounts are, it is beyond repair, I managed to keep it alive for 5 more years but its toast now.

I just hate to get rid of it, but its just not worth much with a rotten body and frame.
Parts are coming off, the shell has been spoken for, this one is done... sniff
