To be fair, the Camaro STILL doesn't have an ohc engine.

Aside from all of the 3.6 and turbo four models.

Am I the only one wondering what numbers 6-8 are?

I assume they're the "alt choice" one-line mentions.  500E, Fiat spider, and GTI VR6.

I would have had the FD rx7 on the list. The Miata is not uncommon enough. You still see all the variants all the time.

I initially thought the 944/951/968 deserved a nod but then I realized these really are really 80s cars so they are off the list.

What about the 300zx. By 90s standards it was big and heavy but compared to today's car weights it is not.

MR2? Started in the 80s but got a big revamp going in to the 90s  and there was not really anything like it.

What this really has made me realize is that there was not a lot of innovation in the enthusiast car market in the 90s by the manufacturers.

I've been blessed to have owned and driven both a '95 M3 5sp coupe and a '93 Civic Si . Should have figured out how to keep them too, but I didn't sadly. I admit to missing the Civic Si more! LOL. These cars fully embody the saying the "The whole is greater than the sum of the parts". Amazingly capable, communicative and engaging driving experiences.

I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but where the hell is the Nissan 300ZX ??? Seriously, here's a car that was way ahead of it's time, and is still one hell of blast to drive. I realized I'm somewhat prejudiced here, but I have to  defend its honor. Even my '90 slicktop could  blow  the doors off Camaros and Mustangs of the day, and it would laugh at a C4 Corvette.

P.S.  The world is not just made up of BMWs and Miatas, give some kudos to the rest of the cool cars.

You're right, there...nothing about the borrowed Neons I autocrossed convinced me to plunge in and buy one, but they were a hoot to drive and they seemed to be everywhere.

I can't fit in one, but my Mk1 MR2 feels roomy in comparison...strange.

You should at least include one car to let people know why the 90's were not a time we want to return to.
