I think you done good. As with all other Loti, you should find that the user community is tremendous. Find "the" internet gathering point for that car and all questions should be answered. For example, Esprits and Europas each have a mailing list on Yahoo. Find the one for M100's and half your battle is done. Next, get the official Lotus factory shop manual for that car. Some of them are - a-hem - available online or in digital format. Ask around whatever internet gathering spot you wind up at, discreatly. If they are not available, then just suck it up and buy one from "The Usual Sources," which would be http://www.jaeparts.com/ and http://www.rdent.com/ . Tell them I sent you. I dunno if Ray (RDent) has M100 stuff, but I think Jeff (JAE) should. Either would know where to send you.

And welcome to the Lotus Community. As the tech inspector at Hallett told me when I brought my car over for tech at a track day: "You know, Lotus owners are... Different."

Much nicer than what I was expecting! You got your money's worth for sure. Hope it works for ya.

I was saving all my pennies for this car when it was first introduced by Lotus. When GM took over and made it FWD, the money went back in my savings account and eventually became a Miata.

I have no rational explanation why FWD killed any desire for the car, the handling was reported as brillant by all who drove it. I

JM, it depends on which car community you identify yourself with. Guy in my club has a Jensen. I think it is an Interceptor. It has a Chrysler 440 in it.

Told my wife about your M100. She saw one in Dallas at LOG26. She said good thing we didn't find it first, or she'd be driving it. She wants to drive on the next track day. Maybe the Rolla. The Esprit is a real handfull.

That is a deal at $10K. At $3K, its the steal of the decade.

If it's an Interceptor, it has ~no~ Loti DNA at all. Still a helluva car. I'd like to find an Interceptor 'vert and convert it to manual tranny. Now THAT would be a fun car. So sophisticated looking yet it'll boil the rear hides and go sideways like a Hemi 'Cuda.

I think you got a good deal right there.

The other one they had wasn't quite as clean and had more miles and sold sometime last year in the low teens, IIRC. www.princetonlotus.com

There is quite a bit of car porn on there.. Nice snag by the way. There is a guy in my area who has a red one that I see from time to time. Was a hardtop ever made for these by Lotus or aftermarket?

Well, it took a bit of doing but it's on the road. It needed a new fuel pump, tires and the oil pan and pickup screen needed cleaning out. After that it runs great !!! No problems whatsoever. Now on to the top and paint and a bunch of "little" things!!
