Quick question: My '95 ex coupe recently developed a weird hesitation/stuttering issue when under light acceleration or steady state cruising. If you're between about 1750 rpm and 2800 rpm it will buck and stutter pretty bad, to the point that you can feel and see the car lurch. If you accelerate at 1/3 throttle or more, it seems to go away, and above 2800 it goes away.

Bad TPS? If so, what voltage range should it read on a multi-meter? I've gotten my meter on it, with the plug undone and it reads from .02-.06 through the range of travel, but it doesn't seem to be linear. It will start at 0, then as you open the throttle plate it jumps to .02, .04, then .06 at about half throttle and never goes above that reading.

Thanks in advance for any ideas,

-Ben

Hey, my wife had a 93 accord auto that had a very similar issue. Hesitation/stuttering under light acceleration, no issues under heavy acceleration.

I thought the trans was slipping or not shifting properly. Took it to a Honda specialist, he cleaned out some emissions passages in the intake manifold that get clogged with carbon for about $100. Problem solved.

I'd search an Accord specific forum for possible causes.

Thanks for the input. I think this is my area to check, as you're the 2nd person to mention that!
