I wouldn't kick a 996 C4S out of my garage. I'd rather have a 997 C2S with factory aero kit tho!
I also don't see the C4S being 10k better than a regular c2/c4. I kinda do wish there had been cheapish 996 Targas when i bought mine, though. They're a little awkward looking but the experience might be worth it. I usually forget the sunroof on my 996 exists and i'm not sure what it's there for other than to break and become a pain in my ass. It's too small, imo.

I bought the nicest Targa I could find, paid 22k for it, so not nearly as cheap as some. However, it is interesting that the back is still usable with front seat a little forward in my experience, that is with tall 12 and 14 year olds carrying trumpets and backpacks. I know the Targa adds rear headroom, I never really considered that part when purchasing but maybe that is helping. I still drive it most days and take both my kids to school. Jcamper
The best part about the Targa is the rear hatch. Really makes it practical. I saw a nice Targa the other day for $16.9k, but it had gray interior, which I don’t prefer.

IDK...it has new Apex arc-8 wheels, new tires, Redish rear subframe mount weld-in reinforcements, all new bushings, GC coilovers, diffsonline 3-clutch LSD, and on and on. I paid $10k for it from fellow GRMer dyintorace a couple years ago before the full suspension, bushing refit, coilovers, etc. I’d like to get $10k back out of it. I think I put 11k miles on it in 2.5 years.
How many miles in total now? I don't recall where it was at the time of your purchase. It looks awesome and I do need a car...
