Finally got my new wheel/tire setup on the car yesterday.
18x9.5 Enkei RPF-1s (big, but still nearly 4lbs lighter than stock 17x7), with 255/35 Direzza Z2
Car already has an OFT and Ground Control coilovers (need to lower it just a touch more). Next up is putting on the SPL rear lower control arms and switching to the E85 OFT tune.
Build thread!
No really, start a build thread. We love build threads.
Wow, the car holds those 9.5"s well. Looks great!
^Enkei actually designed this exact wheel specifically for the FrisBee twins. 18x9.5 ET 38

Unfortunately I haven't really taken many pictures while doing stuff on this car.

How about a build thread?
hehehe, seriously, just a DD, upgrade a bit at a time, type of thing would be fantastic. It would also probably make a better read than my "I took this truck apart 6 years ago and now all I have left is rust, let's see if I can put it back together" stuff.
Build thread! Also how do you like the ground control setup? Thinking about using them on my Z.

I like them. It's my 3rd car to have a GC setup on (last two were E30s). Spring rate choice is a little tail happy on stock tires, can't wait to see how it is with the grippy ones.

That is impressive actually. I wonder how much lighter they are than the 350Z wheels I have on my car.
when I got my skyline I was kind of rationalizing it as a turbo FRS kind of but I couldn't fit anywhere near that large wheels on it, especially not in the front. I bet this FRS is amazing with some sticky tires of that size.
Looks great! Now get that nasty salt-spray off that sexy machine!
Leading up to the FRS/BRZ introduction, the Toyota engineers made a point of saying that they went with hard, narrow rubber to make these cars more fun to drive at street speeds. With wide, sticky rubber and firmer suspension, what's your take on the driving experience now?

Or "I flew to Pennsylvania to buy a 911 and now my wife drives it and I just change the oil".
Build threads are funny, you never know where they're going to take you and at what pace. I highly recommend them.
Nice! I just picked up my new '15 BRZ at the dealer on Wed., and of course it quickly started to ice over, so I've only driven it a few miles. Love the Enkei's!
We had a supercharged one almost get top time of day last autocross. (got beat by Brian Goodwin's supercharged cosworth engined NC miata)

Unfortunately the weather has been cold and nasty here the few weeks so I haven't been able to have much fun with it.
I can say, this setup 375/425 spring rates (roughly 2.5x stiffer than stock)rides pretty close to stock with the Koni's turned down a bit. There is a definite increase in NVH with the camber plates and solid rear upper mounts. The tires definitely added to the stiffness of the ride and more road noise, but it's not too bad.
Assuming the weather holds out, I'll get to do an auto-x on the 22nd.

Stock are just over just 21lbs, these are 17.5, so make that 3.5 since I'm obviously bad at math.
If you go with 17x9, the RPF1s are right around 15.6

Bob's FRS is pretty well modified and tuned. Proves that the chassis has potential to be super fast. can't wait to see how he does at the Tour.

Awesome! The Z has R6 tires on it so grip is not an issue.

I am curious, why the bump up to 18" land where the tires usually cost more?

Because the 18s look much better than 17s, in my humble opinion.
I've always liked the bigger wheel/less tire look. Must be from all those Mini Machines and Hot Wheels back in the day.
