We need to replace the coil packs on Beth's 90 1.6 Miata. What options do we have, aside from new? Are they relatively interchangeable between models of cars (can I score something that would work from the wrecker's)? Are there aftermarket options? Fortunately for us, we have a spare set on the motor intended for our Locost, but that's only a short-term solution, as we hope to have the Locost running by August.

On my VW depending on the coilpack issue letter they performed much differtnly and died if the letter was below "J" I had "I" on my then brand new 2002 New beetle turbo S and all four died a seproate times. Each time replaced with a "J" Wehn I had e J's and one I, I took the I out and dropped it on the floor six or seven times. then I Had it replaces so my car didn't sound like it had a lumpy cam in it.
Try to get coil packs that match.
1st & 2nd Gen DSM & 95-98 4 cyl Hyundai Elantra & Sonata should be the same.
On my ZX2, the OEM coil has been found superior to aftermarket coils.

I should have left out "my" and used "the" in place since I still have the original on MY ZX2.
