I would rather have "wet" E15 than wet E-zero.  That's one of the best parts about ethanol for marine applications.  Quick math... if you have a 40 gallon fuel tank full of E15, it can suspend about a half cup of water.  Straight gas holds next to zero.

Any E0 that goes in gets a light dose of Iso-heet for exactly that reason.  Accumulated water in fuel tanks is bad.

Sorta related, but are there any more unanswered questions about ethanol fuel that can be tackled in a future Fuel Tips item? We have our friends at Sunoco on speed dial.

Yes, over use in 2 strokes.

I'm a big ethanol fan.  Defend it constantly. However my understanding is that it destroys lubrication properties of fuel and oil.  This makes fuel dilution in oil on (turbo)DI cars a concern(no long change intervals), and obviously a piston searing no go for 2 strokes.

The only time I've recommended against e gas is 2 strokes.  I also think it's an underlying cause of the Renesis apex seal failures(very 2 strokey, older rotary's were pre e gas).  Curious if I'm wrong/out of line with that thinking.

Let me see what our scientist friend can tell us about that.
