Yeah, well - At least you're bringing a car.

Sharing slicks? I'm all ears...my wheel bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75, or 5x5 with the spacers.

We were talking about 5x114.3 mustang wheels. I think mustang wheels are the greatest gift to the challenge, for cheap and wide.
Strange part is how many "mustang" wheels I've owned that don't fit or aren't actually for the mustang I own.
Still trying to decide what car I'm bringing and what exact direction I'm heading with the car but I do have lots of interesting ideas.
Nothing to add other than I have added 4k miles to my Challenger in the past two months.
Update

To add to the smack...
I predict an overall finish higher than this Miata.

you mean your van to finish above the miata? or just that there will be something that finishes higher than this miata?
Smack talk has gotta be clear, man.
Okay, for clarity...
The Quest will put the smack down on the Miata with a better overall, combined score.
Sorry above, my brain thinks better than my thumbs type.

Guys, guys, I just got the dumbest awesome idea, so bear with me here.
Okay? Okay.
You match up with, or challenge someone who has a similar budget car, or with someone who likes your car as much as you like theirs. The driver with the highest overall score goes home with their choice of the two.
You could do it with a bigger group too. One big lot of cars, highest finisher gets 1st choice of the lot, 2nd gets 2nd choice, etc...
I would absolutely be willing to throw the Roadmonster into the ring. My only requirement is the other car has to be road trip worthy up to 1000 miles. Who else is in?
I much prefer my $50 Q45 vs his $1000 Miata. That's a coin toss with 20 to 1 payback.
But I kinda like your idea. Would make this more interesting. Plus most of us have automotive ADD so everyone would win.
I am ordering the cage for the trailer-parkcet this week. I too will crush the miata, and i am not starting the build till the day before the autocross and drags...

Little birdie says you think you're going to be fast. Be ready.
car got hot(230) at first autocross of year(may 23) and coolant turned brown and was bubbling through the overflow tube. pulled heads a few minutes ago, the gaskets look great and no piston/valve/spark plug shows obvious signs of a blown HG. looks like i have crack prone emissions era sbc heads, so have to put them in the washer tomorrow and start looking for cracks.
stan_d wrote: I have a set of 882 heads that are not cracked if you need them.
thanks for the offer. i dove deeper, the "rebuild" looks like it consisted of head cleanup, cam/lifters/ ruining the bores with a ridge reamer, and running the stock pistons in a bore where crosshatch is no longer visible and measured at 4.013. block needs work, so i've got slightly under 2 months to get my crap together or pray to god the $350 SE-R starts when i pop the rebuilt ecm in it and throw on some sticky tires
seriously though, if i don't get my crap together i might bring the big block truck. i'll have to go back through my receipts but it's under 2k easy even after i slap the rear drop and ginormous sway bar on it.

Ya, ya, ya....you want everyone to show up in trucks and vans to help your cause...I have my money on you guys for the overall this year even with a fully competitive field. I do trust you are working the Drag times down to get yourself ready to challenge for the overall.
